Mentors Needed!
A Mentor has been described as 'Someone whose hindsight can become your foresight'.
You could be that kind of example! All the trials of computer use that you've survived can be utilized as examples for someone else. Don't you wish you'd had a Mentor? Someone you could email and ask "What is going on here?" You could be that fount of wisdom for someone else.
Mark Twain said, "If you hold a cat by the tail you learn things you cannot learn any other way." As a Mentor you can show beginners all the good reasons you have found to not grab that tail! Mentoring is fun and fulfilling. It isn't a full-time job, and the pay is somewhere below negligible, but it's fun! And the best way to learn something is to teach it. Believe me, I do a lot of teaching and I have learned eight ways to explain anything. Everyone looks at an issue from a different perspective and you get to turn their heads to where they can see it clearly. What power! What glory! What a rush! Volunteer now!
Quick! Contact your illustrious president now and say, "I want to be a role model for a newbie!" You'll be glad you did, or your money back.
