![]() FOR MAY 2008: MAIN MEETINGS - WEST SIDE AND FOUNTAIN HILLS: Social Media: It's Not Just For Kids! MAIN MEETING - EAST SIDE: Social Security Information from the Arizona Public Affairs Representative of the SSA GENERAL INTEREST SIG: Chuck Lewis leads this SIG. For more info see the General Interest SIG page. DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY SIG: Bill Funk now leads this SIG. For more info see the Digital Photo SIG page. DIGITAL VIDEO SIG: David Yamamoto leads this SIG. For more info see the Digital Video SIG page. NOTE: Many people requested the PowerPoint file from Joe Shipley's presentation on cleaning your computer. So, here is a link to that file. Remember that you must have PowerPoint or an equivalent to open this file. As you know, the Phoenix PC Users' Group is a member of the Association of Computer Users' Groups (APCUG). As you may not know, at the latest APCUG Conference, we took SECOND PLACE in our category for our Newsletter! A round of applause, please, for our intrepid Newsletter Editor Bruce Jacobs. (Applause!!) In addition to maintaining a full-time job as a high-end geek, and volunteering in the Arizona scouting community, Bruce finds time to put together an Award-Winning Newsletter! Just for us! Since the aforementioned job is now second-shift, Bruce isn't able to make it to meetings these days, but the next time you see him, give him Kudos on a job well done. Or send a congratulatory e-mail to him at Newsletter Editor. I'm sure he'd be glad to hear from you! And while you're congratulating winners, a round of applause for Hank Pearson, who took FIRST PLACE at APCUG for his work on ASCIi's website. (Applause!!) To check out his Award Winner, visit ASCIi Group. And while you're there, make note of the next meeting and plan to attend. You can never get enough of Users Helping Users when you're dealing with computers. (Or trying to deal with one!) ASCIi offers a variety of meetings on days and times that are different from PPCUG meetings, so you might find one that fits your schedule perfectly. Some of ASCII's members are also members of PPCUG, so you'll see familiar faces. And they'll be glad to see you!
